Portugal M18 handball team to face Austria in EURO 2026 finale

The Portugal men's M18 national handball team will face Austria in their final match of the M18 EHF EURO 2026. The game, scheduled for August 9, will determine the 11th and 12th positions in the tournament.

Portugal finished the Preliminary Round in second place in their group after victories against the Czech Republic and Israel, but lost to Croatia. Following losses to Hungary and Iceland in the Main Round, and a subsequent loss to North Macedonia, Portugal was placed in the 11th/12th place match. Coach Nuno Santos noted that the team is experiencing significant fatigue but remains in good spirits.
