Portugal mortgage rates climb as Aleixo housing project stalls

Mortgage interest rates on residential loans rose again in April, continuing a several‑month upward trend and analysts say the rise is likely to persist.

In the town of Aleixo, a municipal contract with a real‑estate fund has entered its seventh amendment, delaying the construction of almost 500 housing units, about 100 of which are designated for social housing.
