Portugal opens new Loja do Cidadão hubs in Fafe and Samora Correia

The municipality of Fafe will open its new Loja do Cidadão on Monday, 3 August, in the former Royal Center building on Avenida 5 de Outubro. The €1.6 million project will bring together services such as Social Security, the civil‑registry office, tax authorities, the Espaço Cidadão and regional water utilities under one roof, operating weekdays from 09:00 to 17:00.

In Samora Correia, the Benavente council approved a project to house a Loja do Cidadão in the current Social Security building. The initiative, backed by the Agência para a Reforma Tecnológica do Estado, will be the first such centre south of the Santarém district and aims to streamline public‑service access for residents and businesses. Both openings are part of a national effort to modernise and centralise municipal services for greater efficiency and citizen convenience.
