Portugal overtakes Brazil in FIFA men's football rankings
The Brazil men's national football team has dropped out of the FIFA top five, falling to sixth place in the latest world rankings. This shift follows a series of international matches where Brazil earned only 1.59 points, including a draw and a victory against Australia and a 4-0 win over India.
Portugal has overtaken Brazil to claim the fifth position, rising two spots from seventh. Under the management of Jorge Jesus, the Portuguese team achieved a 100% success rate in the Nations League, securing four victories against Wales, Norway (twice), and Denmark. These results earned Portugal 19.84 points, bringing their total to 1,807.69, just 1.18 points ahead of Brazil's 1,806.51.
While Brazil's victory over India was a significant margin, the low ranking of the Indian team limited the points gained. Spain remains at the top of the FIFA rankings, followed by Argentina, France, and England.
