Portugal provides humanitarian aid to Guinea-Bissau storm victims

Portugal has provided essential food supplies and materials to the Red Cross in Guinea-Bissau to assist communities affected by a severe storm. The donation, which included rice and mats, aims to support populations in the eastern region of the country, specifically in the Gabú region.

The storm, which struck the Sintcham Bassirou community on August 10, destroyed 120 houses and impacted 379 families, leaving them in a state of extreme vulnerability. Portuguese Ambassador Miguel Silvestre stated that the initiative is part of Portuguese solidarity and cooperation efforts to reinforce the Red Cross's capacity to respond to immediate needs.
