Portugal ranks among Europe's most relaxed hosts in new study

A study conducted by AEG across 11 European markets reveals that Portuguese people are among the most relaxed when hosting friends and family at home. Approximately 57.3% of Portuguese respondents host guests at least once a month, marking the third-highest frequency in Europe.

Notably, only 15.6% of Portuguese people report feeling stress regarding hosting, which is the lowest rate among the countries analyzed and significantly below the European average of 24%. For 45% of the population, hosting is associated with happiness, a figure that rises to 50% among Generation Z but drops to 36% for those aged 55 to 64.

Despite the positive social outlook, several obstacles were identified: 32% of respondents cited a lack of time, 25% mentioned costs, and 17% pointed to limited space as reasons they could not host more frequently. Additionally, 45% of Portuguese hosts prefer cleaning as they eat, the highest value in Europe, while 27% find it useful to use artificial intelligence to adapt recipes based on available ingredients.
