Portugal rolls out summer programmes for vulnerable children

The Fundación “la Caixa” will provide summer activities for 1,211 children and young people in vulnerable situations across Portugal. The Proinfância programme runs from June to September in 13 municipalities, offering educational, cultural, artistic and sports activities and is backed by an investment of about €2.1 million.

The Portuguese Red Cross has launched the Geração Futuro labs, free sessions for children aged 5‑12 in 13 shopping centres from early August to late September. The labs address topics such as bullying, cyber‑bullying, diversity, inclusion, mental health, basic life support and first aid, and are run by roughly 12 volunteers per edition.
