Portugal school book vouchers and back-to-school discounts

The MEGA (Manuais Escolares Gratuitos) program, a state support measure established in 2019, provides free school books for students from 1st to 12th grade in public or associated private schools. The distribution of vouchers for secondary education concluded on August 13.

In response to the back-to-school season, the retailer Continente is offering a 5% discount on the purchase of textbooks and activity notebooks until September 1. This discount is also available to students in private schools that do not have association contracts with the state. Additionally, the retailer is providing a 20% discount on book covering services and free delivery for school books.
