Portugal stages free theater shows in Fundão and Alentejo

The play “O Cine”, written by Manuela Ferreira, will be performed on 11 July at Armazém 9 in the Praça Velha of Fundão. The production, part of the “A Moagem Fora de Portas” series, draws on community memories of the historic Cine‑Teatro Gardunha and will be free to the public.

The comedy‑drama “Camaleoa”, produced by Teatro dos Aloés, runs on 10 July in Vila Nova de Santo André and on 11 July in Santiago do Cacém. Set against the backstage of a staging of “Júlio César”, the piece explores power struggles and professional precarity among actors. General admission costs €5, with reduced tickets for youths and seniors; AJAGATO members attend for free.
