Portugal summer concerts showcase Seal, James and Ana Newton

Seal and the British band James headlined the pop‑rock night of the MEO Marés festival on 18 July 2026 at Praia do Aterro in Leça da Palmeira, Matosinhos. The event marked the festival’s first edition after moving from Vila Nova de Gaia, with the three‑day programme also featuring hip‑hop, Latin and Afro‑pop acts.

On 6 August, singer Ana Newton performed at the Quarteira Summer Market, accompanied by guitarist Luís Trindade. Her set highlighted classic Portuguese songs and traditional numbers such as “O Malhão” and “Laurindinha,” prompting spontaneous audience singing and strong applause.

Both concerts attracted sizable local crowds and underscored the vibrancy of Portugal’s summer live‑music scene.
