Portugal tax authority warns of phishing emails targeting freelancers

The Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira (AT) issued a notice that fraudulent emails circulating under its name are asking independent workers to issue missing "recibos verdes" (green receipts). The messages contain links that lead to malicious sites and aim to obtain personal and business data.

AT also reported a parallel SMS phishing campaign using a fake "CMD" (Chave Móvel Digital) sender, urging recipients to update personal details. Citizens are advised to ignore such communications, never click on links or provide credentials, and delete suspicious messages. The agency directs people to an informational flyer on information security for further guidance.
