Portugal Tax Authority warns of Portal das Finanças service disruptions

The Portuguese Tax and Customs Authority (AT) has issued a warning regarding technical constraints on the Portal das Finanças. Due to scheduled technical updates, customs services and specific tax management systems are expected to face significant disruptions on Tuesday, September 29, between 10:00 and 16:00.

The maintenance will specifically impact customs processes, including online import, export, and clearance operations. Additionally, services related to the Vehicle Tax (ISV) and Special Consumption Taxes (IEC)—covering fuels, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco—may be unavailable. The AT recommends that taxpayers and economic operators schedule their submissions outside of this six-hour window to avoid data loss or service blocks.
