Portugal tourism agency backs 10 interior projects with €3.3 million

Tourism of Portugal signed financing contracts in Coimbra for ten tourism projects located in interior regions, representing a total investment of €3.3 million, of which €2.3 million is non‑repayable grant funding under the "Crescer com o Turismo" programme. The projects are spread across the North, Centre, Ribatejo and Alentejo areas and cover requalification of tourism facilities, digital transformation, new visitor experiences and heritage valorisation, including nature, regenerative, sports, cultural, creative, accessible and inclusive tourism.

The programme, launched in February 2025 with a €30 million budget, aims to promote sustainable development, territorial cohesion and economic dynamism in Portugal’s interior until 31 December 2026. The ceremony was presided over by State Secretary for Tourism, Commerce and Services Pedro Machado and attended by Tourism of Portugal president Carlos Abade, who said the support “evidences its importance in delivering projects that value territories, qualify the tourism offer and enhance the diversity of experiences available in Portugal.”
