Goals in the decisive match were scored by Rodrigo Mora, Rodrigo Rêgo, and Gonçalo Oliveira, with an own goal by a Gibraltar player in stoppage time. This victory brings Portugal to 22 points, making them unreachable by the Czech Republic, who currently sit at 18 points.

Under the leadership of coach Luís Freire, the team successfully navigated the qualifying phase to earn one of the 16 spots for the 2027 tournament, which is scheduled to be hosted by Albania and Serbia.
