Portugal workers face fatigue following winter time change
A survey conducted by Hays Portugal indicates that the transition to winter time on October 25 has impacted the well-being of many professionals. According to the data collected via LinkedIn, 28% of participants reported feeling more tired in the days following the change, 21% experienced shifts in their daily routines, and 3% noted increased difficulties with concentration.
Despite these figures, 47% of respondents stated they felt no impact. The study suggests that adaptation varies based on sleep habits, work schedules, and specific job roles. Professionals with rigid routines, early start times, or roles requiring high levels of concentration appear to be more affected by the disruption to circadian rhythms.
Sandrine Veríssimo, Regional Director of Hays Portugal, noted that companies should recognize these individual differences. She suggested that small adjustments in work organization and increased labor flexibility could help facilitate adaptation and support team well-being.
