Portugal's Alentejo and Algarve regions launch new EU‑funded business support initiatives

The Alentejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) unveiled the PlataformaEREI Alentejo 2030, an AI‑driven tool designed to help companies and project promoters align their ideas with EU community funds. Described as the first such platform in the country, it supports sectors identified in the Alentejo Smart Specialisation Strategy, including defence, agro‑transformation, research, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, water management and production processes.

Separately, the Algarve 2030 programme issued a €3 million call for proposals, financed by the European Regional Development Fund, to modernise non‑technological business parks. The scheme offers up to 65 % financing for projects that improve infrastructure, equipment and accessibility and that address digital, energy and environmental transitions. Applications are accepted until 15 January 2027 and aim to boost regional competitiveness, attract investment and create qualified jobs.
