Portugal's Alentejo and Serra de Aire host summer wine, astronomy festival and youth adventure camp

The historic Castelo de Noudar in Barrancos, Alentejo, will stage the “Sob as Estrelas de Noudar – Vinhos, Sabores e Dark Sky” festival on 18 July 2026. Organized by the Alentejo and Ribatejo Regional Tourism Authority together with the municipality, the event combines a solar‑observation session, a lecture on the Sun, wine tasting of Baixo Alentejo labels, regional gastronomy prepared by Chef José Carlos Lobito, and night‑time sky‑watching of the Moon and Venus. It aims to promote sustainable, locally‑based tourism in the Dark Sky Alqueva reserve.

Separately, a summer camp for children and teenagers aged 6‑17 is being run in the Serra de Aire Natural Park. Running from late June to early September 2026, the camp offers activities such as rappelling in caves, rock‑climbing, and slide rides, together with accommodation, meals and 24‑hour supervision. Prices are €395 per week per participant, and the programme emphasizes teamwork, ecological awareness and outdoor adventure.
