Portugal's coastal villages celebrate summer with festivals in Ribatejo and Zambujeira
The parish of Praia do Ribatejo in Vila Nova da Barquinha will hold a three‑day celebration of Santa Maria do Ôzezar from Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July. The program mixes religious observances – a mass and procession on Saturday – with musical performances by Banda Brysas, Banda Amigos do Presidente, local DJs and a traditional chinquilho tournament.
In the neighbouring coastal town of Zambujeira do Mar, the Junta de Freguesia is running a series of evening cultural events. On 24 July the Largo Miramar hosts a show by Luís Simenta, followed on 25 July by the “Palheirão Pôr do Sol” initiative at Largo da Capela and a baile featuring Filomena Raposo. An additional concert by Eurico and Acousticroad is scheduled for 31 July.
Both festivals are organized by local cultural and sport associations, aiming to attract residents and tourists with music, food, and community activities.
