Portugal's Competition Authority approves Grupo Labina acquisition
The Portuguese Competition Authority has approved the acquisition of Grupo Labina by Triplecast II and Emipinvest. The regulatory body decided not to oppose the concentration, concluding that the transaction does not create “significant impediments to effective competition in the national market or in a substantial part of it.”
The acquisition involves the joint control of Labina — Fundição Injectada, Unipessoal, Lda. and Arcast, Lda., which together comprise Grupo Labina. Triplecast II is a vehicle company held by the Crest III closed-end venture capital fund, managed by Crest Capital Partners. The Crest III portfolio includes diverse sectors such as precision metalworking, industrial composite products, and various manufacturing and distribution services.
