Portugal's leading wineries unveil summer wine selections

Portuguese wine producer José Maria da Fonseca recommends a range of fresh, elegant wines for the summer season, including João Pires Branco 2025, João Pires Rosé 2025, Quinta de Camarate Doce Branco 2025, Quinta de Camarate Seco Branco 2025, the iconic BSE 2025, Periquita Branco 2025 and Periquita Rosé 2025. Priced between €5 and €10, the wines are pitched for light meals such as fish, salads, and seafood, and for relaxed gatherings.

Quinta de Lemos, another Portuguese winery, suggests two summer‑friendly bottles: Lemos Rosé, made from 100% Touriga Nacional and noted for floral, strawberry and raspberry notes, and Chef Diogo Rocha Branco 2025, produced from 100% Encruzado with flavors of physalis, lychee and green apple. Both are described as fresh, mineral and versatile for pairing with Mediterranean dishes during the hottest days of the year.
