Portugal's Liberal leader Mariana Leitão warns of public impatience amid immigration reforms

Liberal Party leader Mariana Leitão told the Bola Branca conference that Portuguese citizens are increasingly impatient with the government's tentative reforms, citing stalled labour legislation and problems with the state emergency communications network (SIRESP). She criticized opposition from the Chega party and urged a review of the emergency system.

In a separate parliamentary hearing, President of the Council António Leitão Amaro thanked the Liberal and Chega parties for supporting the government's immigration policy agenda. He reported that about 75% of the migration action plan had been implemented, including the issuance of roughly half a million residence cards and progress on integration measures.
