Portugal's Lisbon Videoart Festival and Vila do Conde Short Film Festival Announced

The 18th edition of the Fuso – International Videoart Festival will run in Lisbon from August 25 to 29, featuring works by artists such as Antoni Muntados, Tony Labat, Filila César and Ana Vaz. Curated by an international team, the program focuses on themes of territory, decolonial perspectives, power structures, identity and the body.

The 34th Curtas Vila do Conde short‑film festival returns on Friday, presenting more than 125 national premieres and nearly 20 world premieres at the Teatro Municipal. Highlights include the presence of Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulof, producer Christine Vachon, and a competition spotlighting films about Palestine and the West Bank.

Both events aim to foster dialogue between artists, curators and audiences, highlighting contemporary Portuguese cultural production on the international stage.
