Portugal's PSI Index Rises in June as Global Tech Stocks Slip

The Portuguese PSI (Portuguese Stock Index) closed June 2026 with a 0.6% monthly gain to 9,132.6 points, marking a 10.5% rise since the start of the year. The index moved opposite to the MSCI World, which fell 0.8% amid a strong sell‑off in U.S. technology shares that pulled down the S&P 500 and NASDAQ.

Top performers on the PSI were Teixeira Duarte (+22.9%), REN (+6.6%), BCP (+6.4%), Sonae (+5.6%) and EDP (+4.9%). Galp led year‑to‑date gains with a 27.4% increase, while CTT posted the biggest decline at –22.1%.

Bank BCP, the sole Lisbon‑listed bank, traded above €1 per share after breaking that level on 18 June and has risen more than 17% since the start of 2026. Analysts, including CaixaBank/BPI, have lifted their price target to €1.20, suggesting further upside.

Analysts noted a slowing of trading volume on Euronext Lisboa and highlighted sectoral differences, with energy and industrial groups showing resilience while some consumer and construction firms lagged.
