Portugal's Savings Certificates attract record €22 million via CTT app

The Portuguese Series F savings certificate now offers a base gross rate of 2.474%, close to the product’s statutory ceiling, with total gross returns potentially reaching 4.25% in the final two years. The certificate requires a minimum €100 investment, allows additional contributions of €10, and caps the total investment at €250,000 per series.

In July, the CTT digital app recorded a new peak of €22.7 million in new subscriptions, of which more than €19.5 million went to Certificados de Aforro and about €3 million to Certificados do Tesouro. This represents a 29% rise from the previous month and a 99% increase year‑on‑year, marking the strongest month since the digital service launched in July 2024. Since launch, roughly €300 million has been invested through the app, with digital transactions accounting for over 11% of all certificate subscriptions.
