Portugal’s Vagos and Ourém beaches awarded Blue Flag honors

The municipality of Vagos raised the Blue Flag on Praia do Areão after completing rapid works that upgraded access routes, installed new public toilets and a medical post, and satisfied the water‑quality and safety criteria required for the international award.

In Ourém, the Praia Fluvial do Agroal received the Blue Flag for the tenth consecutive year, alongside the Accessible Beach, Gold Quality and new ColorADD flags. Local officials highlighted recent improvements such as rehabilitated boardwalks, a free shuttle service for visitors, and ongoing traffic‑management measures to protect the environmentally sensitive site.
