Portugal's Young Cyclists and Equestrian Team Secure National and European Championships

At the Portuguese National Youth Road Cycling Championships, Marta Esteves (Sub‑19) and Lúcia Martins (Sub‑17) each completed a double, winning both the individual time trial and the road race in their categories. The event also saw titles claimed by Matilde Fernandes (Sub‑15 female), Martim Costa (Sub‑15 male) and other emerging riders.

In endurance equestrian sport, the Portuguese junior team captured the European team title at Jullianges, France, on 31 July. Rodrigo Buinho won the individual junior championship, while teammates Manuel Maria Pereira and António Maria Lopes Avó earned bronze medals. President António José Seguro publicly praised the riders, the support staff and the Portuguese Equestrian Federation for the historic performance.

Both achievements were highlighted as milestones for Portugal’s youth talent in cycling and horse‑endurance disciplines.
