Portuguese Association of Anthropology to host meeting on public anthropology

The Portuguese Association of Anthropology is organizing a hybrid meeting titled ‘Where is Public Anthropology in Portugal?’ scheduled for September 29, 2026. The event aims to identify and map local practices of public anthropology, discuss ethical challenges, and explore the discipline's potential for social intervention and alliance building.

Hosted at the ICS Maria Sousa Room, the session is designed as an informal conversation among colleagues to reflect on the methodology, goals, and results of anthropological work within various territories.
