Portuguese Cancer League launches breast cancer awareness initiatives

The Portuguese Cancer League (LPCC) is conducting several initiatives as part of the Pink October campaign to promote breast cancer prevention and early diagnosis.

In Portimão, a solidarity walk featuring 5 and 8-kilometer routes will take place on October 25 at the Zona Ribeirinha. Organized by the LPCC Faro Support Group with support from the Portimão City Council, the non-competitive event aims to encourage healthy lifestyles and raise funds for the LPCC Southern Regional Nucleus to support oncology patients and their families.

In Madeira, the LPCC Regional Nucleus is hosting the ‘Body, Image, and Well-being’ initiative at the Plaza Madeira shopping center. This program focuses on the importance of self-esteem and emotional well-being in relation to breast cancer prevention and includes lectures by health professionals.
