Portuguese clubs bolster squads ahead of new season

Desportivo de Chaves announced the signing of 26‑year‑old goalkeeper João Valido on a two‑year contract running to the end of the 2027/28 season. Valido arrives from Arouca after four consecutive top‑flight campaigns and 26 league appearances, having previously featured for Vitória de Setúbal’s senior and under‑23 sides and spent time in Benfica’s youth system.

Académico de Viseu confirmed a long‑term extension for forward Lorougnon Gohi, tying him to the club until June 2030. The 21‑year‑old made 27 appearances last season, scoring four goals and providing two assists, and expressed his ambition to help the team succeed after promotion back to the I Liga. The club also announced the departure of midfielder Cihan Kahraman, who left after three seasons and 55 matches.
