Portuguese clubs compete in UEFA Conference and Europa League

Sporting de Braga begins its UEFA Conference League league stage campaign with an away match against FC Copenhagen at Parken Stadium. As the sole Portuguese representative in this competition, Braga enters the match following two qualifying rounds and a play-off. The squad faces challenges as defender Niakaté is sidelined with an injury and winger Gabri Martínez is unavailable due to personal reasons.

In Europa League action, Portuguese side Torreense suffered a 2-1 defeat against Sunderland. Despite the loss, which was sealed by a goal in stoppage time, Torreense assistant coach Carlos Simões expressed pride in the team's performance against the Premier League opponent. Simões noted that while the team struggled physically toward the end, the effort demonstrated the quality of the II Liga side.
