Portuguese clubs FC Famalicão and Alcochete gear up for pre‑season competitions

FC Famalicão, under coach Carlos Carvalhal, will play a preparatory match against Tondela on Saturday before joining the Como Cup in Italy. In Group A of the tournament they will face French side RC Lens and English club Crystal Palace, while also preparing for their league opener against GD Estoril on 7 August. The club has already added several new players, including midfielder Mathias Jangeal from PSG and defender Finn van Breemen, and continues to monitor transfer targets such as Georgios Koutsias.

Grupo Desportivo Alcochetense, coached by Paulo Martins, continues its pre‑season schedule with a friendly against Elvas on 25 July, a match versus Estrela da Amadora in the Troféu das Salinas on 9 August, and other preparatory games. The squad, averaging 28 years of age, has introduced 18 players so far, including goalkeepers Luís Ribeiro and Rui Vieira and several defenders and forwards from lower‑division clubs. The team aims to be ready for the Campeonato de Portugal, which starts on 16 August.
