Portuguese clubs Sporting CP and SC Vila Real announce new signings

Sporting CP confirmed the signing of 20‑year‑old goalkeeper Carolina Alves, who played 16 matches for Valadares Gaia FC last season. Alves said she is "very happy" to join the club and aims to help Sporting win titles.

SC Vila Real also revealed two additions for the 2026/27 season: defender David Freitas and goalkeeper Francisco “Kiko” Teixeira, both 21. The club highlighted their ambition and talent, and noted that three existing players – Mini, Cláudio and André Azevedo – have renewed their contracts for the coming campaign.
