Portuguese companies receive major business and communication honors

Several Portuguese organizations have achieved recognition in the business and communications sectors. EDP, Novobanco, REN, and NOVA FCT have been named finalists for the 2026 European Excellence Awards, a major European competition for public relations and communication.

EDP received three nominations, including a multichannel campaign featuring João Baião aimed at recovering customer emotional connection, and a nomination for its new corporate website. Novobanco is a finalist in the ‘Change Communications’ category for its integration program with the French Groupe BPCE. Additionally, NOVA FCT was shortlisted in the Science and Education category for its project to connect researchers with journalists.

Separately, Novobanco was named the Best Bank for SMEs in Portugal by Global Finance for the 2027 awards. This follows a similar distinction from Euromoney for 2026. The bank reported that over 60% of its credit portfolio is associated with companies, and its integration into Groupe BPCE is intended to expand its international network and service offerings for small and medium-sized enterprises.
