Portuguese Development Bank launches €1.5 bn Impulsar financing programme

The Banco Português de Fomento (BPF) together with the Sociedade de Garantia Mútua (SGM) announced a new €1.5 billion financing line called Impulsar Portugal. The programme is split into four pillars:

• Impulsar Curto Prazo – up to €7.5 million per company for treasury needs, 60‑month term, 50 % mutual guarantee. • Impulsar Investimento Estratégico – up to €25 million for equity acquisition, scaling or leasing, up to 144 months, 36‑month grace period, 70 % guarantee. • Impulsar Novos Negócios – up to €1 million for start‑up investment and working capital, up to 120 months, 24‑month grace period, 80 % guarantee. • Impulsar Garantias Técnicas – up to €2.5 million to issue technical guarantees, up to 120 months, mutual guarantee between 75 % and 100 % depending on the beneficiary.

Companies can apply through participating commercial banks. The scheme aims to support treasury management, strategic investment, new‑business creation and the issuance of guarantees throughout the development stages of Portuguese firms.
