Portuguese Embassy organizes charity gala for Venezuela earthquake victims

The Portuguese Embassy in Caracas is organizing a solidarity gala titled ‘Uma Mão Amiga’ (A Helping Hand) to support victims of the double earthquake that occurred on June 24. The seismic event caused significant infrastructure damage, injuries, and fatalities across seven Venezuelan states.

The charity event, ‘Gala de Beneficência Portugal’, is scheduled for the evening of October 3 at the Salão Nobre of the Centro Português in Caracas. The gala will feature a solidarity concert including performances by Portuguese singer Sofia Ribeiro, Colombian pianist Juan Andrés Ospina, and several Luso-Venezuelan artists and groups.

According to an embassy statement, funds raised will be channeled through institutions working directly with families affected by the earthquakes in the state of La Guaira. The embassy emphasized that while months have passed since the event, the emergency situation has not concluded and the Portuguese community remains committed to providing ongoing assistance.
