Portuguese Football Federation names referees for Liga opening matches

The Arbitration Council of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) released the officiating teams for the first round of the Liga and II Liga. João Gonçalves will referee the Estrela vs Sporting match in Amadora, assisted by Pedro Ribeiro and Miguel Martins, with Tiago Martins as VAR. Luís Godinho will oversee the FC Porto vs Alverca game, supported by assistants Pedro Martins and Gonçalo Freire and VAR Bruno Esteves. David Silva will take charge of the Benfica vs Académico de Viseu fixture, with assistants Carlos Campos and Nelson Cunha and VAR Manuel Mota. Additional referee appointments for other fixtures, including Estoril‑Famalicão, Marítimo‑Casa Pia, Vitória vs Arouca, and others, were also listed with their respective fourth officials and VAR staff.
