The Portuguese government has approved several infrastructure contracts totalling over €10 million. In Madeira, a contract worth €1.387 million was awarded to Tecnovia Madeira to rebuild hydraulic infrastructure at Ribeiro da Ponta Delgada, with a 420‑day execution period. Additional programme contracts will provide up to €5.628 million for projects between 2026 and 2029, including funding for the 2026 Madeira Rally and social‑care facilities.

In the Alentejo municipality of Fronteira, the government recognised the construction of a new bridge over the Ribeira Grande on the EN 245 as a public‑interest project. The bridge, costing roughly €5 million, will replace the damaged structure from 2022 and is slated to begin in the second half of 2026. An environmental assessment concluded the project poses no significant adverse impact. Simultaneously, a €872 k public tender will refurbish the old bridge for pedestrian and bicycle use, supporting the region’s ecotourism and sustainable mobility plans.
