Portuguese internationals drive 317 million euro transfer market
Portuguese international football players have moved clubs for a combined total exceeding 317 million euros during the recent summer transfer window. Mateus Fernandes led the spending with a 99 million euro move from West Ham to Tottenham. Other notable high-value transfers include Gonçalo Ramos and Trincão.
In the women's sector, Beatriz Cameirão has joined Sporting CP after rescinding her contract with Benfica. The 25-year-old midfielder, who has 47 caps for the Portuguese national team, signed a contract valid until June 2029.
Other significant movements include João Cancelo joining Barcelona following a rescission with Al Hilal, and Bernardo Silva moving from Manchester City to Real Madrid. In the U-21 category, Afonso Moreira moved to Bayer Leverkusen for 29.5 million euros, Rodrigo Mora joined Roma for 25 million euros, and Gustavo Sá transferred to Nottingham Forest for 20 million euros.
