Portuguese municipalities allocate funds for cultural heritage projects
The municipal council of Oliveira de Azeméis awarded a €45,000 contract to Gaivina de Agueiro to prepare the nomination of the town’s philharmonic bands and folk ranches for the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The work includes research, documentation, digitisation and the creation of a searchable database, with a deadline of 25 September 2026.
In Mourão, the city council signed two collaboration protocols on 20 July, granting a total of €2,500 (€1,250 per group) to the Grupo Coral Feminino Flores de Abril and the Grupo Coral da Granja to support concerts and other musical activities.
Both initiatives aim to preserve and promote local cultural expressions through municipal funding.
