The municipalities of Odemira and Anadia have approved significant financial support for local sports clubs and associations to fund activities for the 2026/2027 season.
In Odemira, the municipal government is providing 515,000 euros to 32 sports clubs and associations through the ‘Odemira Ativa’ program. This funding covers 24 different sports modalities, involving approximately 1,782 athletes, including 1,196 in training categories and 586 in senior levels. Supported activities range from football, handball, and volleyball to surfing, canoeing, martial arts, and chess.
In Anadia, the municipal chamber approved over 190,000 euros to support 12 associations under the Municipal Support Program for Sports Development (PAMDD). Additionally, 8,500 euros were allocated to three collectives for specific initiatives.
