Portuguese municipalities approve school support packages

The Câmara Municipal de Monforte approved the 2026/27 school year Action Social Escolar aid, providing work‑sheet booklets for all 1st‑cycle pupils and free access to the Escola Virtual platform for pre‑school through 3rd‑cycle students. Material subsidies were set at €16 per year for tier A pupils and €8 for tier B, with the higher tier applied to students with special educational needs. Study‑trip contributions of €20 (tier A) and €10 (tier B) were also approved, alongside food and transport assistance.

The Câmara Municipal de Viana do Castelo adopted several cooperation protocols with local school groups, allocating €13,200 to support animation and family activities for the Monte da Ola school cluster. Additional funding of €51,959 was earmarked for artistic education through the Academia de Música de Viana do Castelo for pre‑school music initiation, and €136,108 for music teaching in the first cycle across multiple schools. Both municipalities aim to strengthen educational resources and prepare for the upcoming academic year.
