Portuguese municipalities host European Mobility Week initiatives

Municipalities in Portugal, including Loures and Águeda, are participating in European Mobility Week from September 16 to 22. The initiatives focus on the theme ‘Mobility for all — Justice between generations,’ aiming to promote inclusive, sustainable, and accessible transportation methods.

In Loures, the program ‘Moving Loures, Connecting Generations’ features intergenerational walks, family-oriented activities, and walking trips to municipal libraries to encourage sustainable movement. In Águeda, the municipality is promoting a strategy centered on public transport, cycling, and pedestrian routes through various awareness actions and roadshows designed to transform daily habits into long-term sustainable practices.
