Portuguese municipalities invest in healthcare and public services

The municipality of Vila Pouca de Aguiar has launched public tenders for the requalification of three health units and the improvement of energy efficiency in municipal buildings. The healthcare investment totals approximately 1.32 million euros and includes works at the Vila Pouca de Aguiar Health Center, the Pedras Salgadas Health Extension, and the Jales Health Extension. These projects, part of the Norte 2030 program, aim to improve energy efficiency, accessibility, and facilities for staff and patients.

In a separate initiative, the municipality of Vila Viçosa has opened two new 'Espaços Cidadão' (Citizen Spaces) located in the Vila Viçosa Town Hall and the Pardais Parish Council. These spaces provide assisted digital service points to help citizens access public administration services more easily. Funded by the Alentejo 2030 program and the European Regional Development Fund, the initiative also includes accessibility improvements to ensure inclusive public facilities.
