Portuguese municipalities receive awards for literary initiatives

The Municipality of Sertã has been honored with the ‘Autarquia do Ano – Grupo Mosqueteiros’ award in the Culture and Heritage category. The distinction recognizes the ‘Maratona de Leitura da Sertã’, a project managed through the Padre Manuel Antunes Municipal Library. The initiative aims to promote reading habits, social cohesion, and economic dynamism by integrating literature with music, arts, and nature.

In Redondo, the XXXI Hernâni Cidade Literary Prize was awarded during a ceremony dedicated to the theme of ‘Peace’. The competition, organized by the Redondo Municipal Council, received 414 entries from both national and international authors. The first prize was awarded to Joana Sofia Barbosa dos Santos for the work ‘Paz em lume brando’, followed by Jorge Manuel Mangorinha Martins in second place and Diana Flávia Teixeira in third.
