Portuguese municipalities sign new local cooperation protocols

The Municipality of Castelo Branco has signed several cooperation protocols with local entities to support community activities for the 2026 and 2026/2027 periods. Supported organizations include the Associação de Jogos Tradicionais do Distrito de Castelo Branco, Núcleo Sporting Clube de Portugal de Castelo Branco, Clube Desportivo de Alcains, and Clube Recreativo e Cultural de Freixial do Campo. These funds are intended for social, cultural, sporting, and recreational initiatives.

In Arganil, the municipality has entered into a collaboration protocol with Águas do Centro Litoral. The partnership aims to improve the understanding of local water supply systems and reduce water losses within the municipal network. This initiative addresses the environmental and economic challenges of water inefficiency, noting that non-billed water remains a significant issue in the sector.
