Portuguese poets qualify for Mili Dueli World Poetry semi-finals
Portuguese poets Nero and Pedro dos Santos have qualified for the semi-finals of the Mili Dueli 2025/2026 World Poetry Championship. Nero, a teacher from Silves, achieved one of the highest scores in the competition with 95 out of 100 points for his poem ‘Se um dia me secarem os versos’, originally published in his 2023 book, Telúria.
Pedro dos Santos, from Évora, also advanced to the semi-finals with a score of 85 points. The competition, which was recognized by Forbes in 2018 as one of the most popular online poetry contests in Southeast Europe, involves evaluations by an international jury and public voting. For the upcoming semi-final stage, participants are required to present previously unpublished works.
