Portuguese polytechnic universities advance research and community engagement

The Polytechnic University of Portalegre (UPP) has launched the ‘IPP IMPACT’ project to strengthen its international research presence within the European space. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the COMPETE2030 program, the initiative aims to prepare and submit seven applications to the Horizon Europe program by June 2028. Research areas include bioenergy, climate change, natural resources, social sciences, and health.

In Bragança, the Polytechnic University of Bragança (UPB) is collaborating with the Centro Ciência Viva de Bragança to bring scientific research directly to the community. This initiative features researchers from various centers, such as CIMO and CeDRI, showcasing technologies in biotechnology, sustainable plant production, intelligent systems, and health through interactive demonstrations and public engagement.
