António José Seguro marks Army Day and UN Day

Portuguese President António José Seguro issued messages marking both Army Day and United Nations Day. On Army Day, celebrated in Porto, the President honored the commitment of military personnel serving both nationally and abroad. He highlighted the importance of the Army in defending sovereignty and freedom within an increasingly complex and unpredictable international context.

Regarding United Nations Day, Seguro emphasized the necessity of international cooperation and solidarity to address global instability. He noted that no single nation can resolve modern challenges alone and called for multilateralism based on international law. He also reminded the public that Portugal will begin a two-year term as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in January.
