Portuguese producer advocates for high-quality commercial cinema

Portuguese producer Sónia Resende of Station Productions is advocating for the development of high-quality commercial cinema in Portugal. She noted a prevailing reservation in the country regarding commercial films, arguing that commercial success and quality are not mutually exclusive.

To this end, director Rui Pedro Sousa and Resende are releasing the comedy “O pecado mora em cima”. Filmed in Porto, the movie features Brazilian actors Miguel Falabella and Marisa Orth alongside Portuguese actors Inês Aires Pereira and Pedro Carvalho. The plot follows a Brazilian immigrant couple who invite a young Portuguese couple to dinner, exploring themes of relationship dynamics and cultural connections between Brazil and Portugal.
