Portuguese Red Cross launches Geração Futuro labs in 13 shopping centres
The Portuguese Red Cross (Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa) has introduced the "Labs Geração Futuro" programme, a series of learning activities for children aged 5 to 12. The labs will operate in 13 shopping centres managed by Sonae Sierra across Portugal from May through September.
Each session, run by about 12 Red Cross volunteers, offers practical games and challenges covering bullying, cyber‑bullying, diversity, social inclusion, mental‑health awareness, basic life support and first‑aid skills. The initiative aims to foster empathy, cooperation, respect and critical thinking among participants.
The launch follows the "A Geração Futuro precisa de Montra" campaign, which recruited roughly 150 new volunteers. Diana Pinto, Marketing Director B2C at Sonae Sierra, said the partnership places communities at the centre of action and creates positive impact for children.
